With over 590 happy students across 8 classes, Vasalive (Music & Arts School) has earned a solid reputation as a music school in Dubai. To start with, they have a comprehensive piano curriculum that involves practice sessions guided by teachers.
Their curriculum targets music theory, music history, composition, ear training, among other things. The curriculum is very structured, with different levels of difficulty fit for every stage of learning.
Take note that each semester takes around 20 weeks. The curriculum also ensures that the student is exam-ready at Trinity College, London at the end of their given course.
This is great if that’s your goal for playing and really want to take playing the piano seriously. Definitely not ideal for more casual players, on the other hand.
Anyway, they have very qualified instructors with lots of years of experience. Based on our experience, they’re very attentive, thorough, and encouraging.
Their center has a welcoming atmosphere that makes for a conducive environment for learning. They also give a free trial lesson, so you’ll get to experience their teaching methods and figure out if it’s for you or not.
They also have affordable lessons compared to the other schools. They even offer a family discount if more than one member of your family enrolls at their school.
Aside from piano lessons, they offer the following classes:
- Drums classes

Their range of classes is decidedly among the shortest we found, though. On the other hand, they do tend to have more focused and specialized lessons than many others.
They’re very accessible on Whatsapp from what we’ve experienced, so you can contact them there for inquiries. However, their website doesn’t have a whole lot of information about their classes, making it inconvenient to learn about their services.
Pros
- Comprehensive piano curriculum
- Fully-equipped center
- Free trial lesson
Cons
- Range of classes not as extensive as competitors
- Not a lot of info on website

In their own words, Musical Expression Institute is a place where “music is taught with passion, and learned in an enjoyable, serious and efficient way”. Their curriculum mixes practical know-how, music theory, and solfeggio.
Their curriculum for teaching instruments is based on that of prestigious European conservatories. Depending on the student’s age and skill level, they’ll be taught either with the classical, contemporary, or jazz curriculum.
What we noticed, however, is that their curriculum is very structured and not that flexible for individual needs. So, if you’re looking for a more customizable curriculum, it might be best to check elsewhere.
Aside from piano, they teach guitar, voice lessons, saxophone, flute, and violin. Their range of classes is a bit limited compared to some other schools again, so note that if you’re looking to dabble in something other than piano.
Their founder, Philippe El Hage, personally supervises the courses taught at the institute, which we like. We were also impressed by the music teachers’ qualifications and experience in teaching.
Based on our experience, the teachers are very patient, passionate, and encouraging towards students. It makes learning fun and engaging.
They even offer master classes and specialized training with invited musicians to share their experiences and technique with the students, which is a great opportunity for students of any level.
They also plan and hold yearly performances for their students to showcase what they’ve learned. So, if you want to be more comfortable with performing on stage, this school is a strong option for you.
What we like most is the community they have formed within the school and the culture of acceptance and genuine appreciation for music they foster.
Pros
- Varied and structured curriculum
- Qualified teachers
- Solid community ties
- Performance opportunities
Cons
- Limited range of classes aside from piano
