Our tongues melted at the 10 best hot chocolate cafes in Dubai!

When it comes to food, patience wasn’t always my strong suit. But a few years ago, I learned my lesson the hard way—I took a huge sip of freshly made hot cocoa and spent the next 15 minutes regretting my life choices.

Now, whenever I order a hot beverage, I take my time. I wait for the rest of my food to arrive, arrange everything nicely, snap a few photos, and go through my little pre-meal rituals. That way, I don’t end up too eager and burning my precious tongue again.

This is how I survived trying out all the best hot chocolate cafes in Dubai. Check them out below and grab yourself a hot cocoa inside or to go!

Where can I get a hot choco in Dubai?

There are a bunch of cafes where you can get a hot choco in Dubai! Get your warm cocoa at delightful spots, like Godiva Café, SAID DAL 1923, Chocolate Molecule, Mirzam Chocolate Makers, and Läderach.

Known for its luxurious Belgian chocolates, Godiva Café offers a decadent hot chocolate experience in Dubai.

If you want something rich and creamy, its menu includes indulgent options, such as salted caramel and dark chocolate. We also think these beverages go well with the carrot cake or chocolate-dipped strawberries!

But if you don’t like having sweets over sweets, we get it. Alternatively, we recommend the croque monsieur (a hot sandwich made with ham and cheese) for something savory and hearty.

SAID DAL 1923 is celebrated for its rich and luxurious hot chocolates, like unique flavors like gianduja (an Italian chocolate with hazelnuts, sugar, and cocoa) and chili hot chocolate.

We adore that it’s also known for its chocolate-covered mugs! Don’t fret, it’s done on purpose—no chocolate spills here. But if you’re after a spiced chocolate drink, we suggest combining it with the tiramisu or milk cake to balance it out.

You can also access the SAID Chocolate Boutique and buy dragées (bite-sized sugar-coated nuts), pralines, and signature chocolate. These are available by piece or in lovely gift boxes and hampers.

Handy hack:

When ordering hot chocolate or triple chocolate cake at SAID Dal 1923, we say start with the smallest size. Some flavors can be a tad too sweet—we think it’d be a waste if you can’t finish them.

Chocolate Molecule

  • Monday – Closed

Pricing: AED Around 100 per person

Popular for its artisanal approach, Chocolate Molecule serves various specialty coffees and gourmet hot chocolates from top-notch ingredients. The way we see it, their hot chocolate is among the richest and creamiest too!

As for the treats, think French-style pastries, including croissants and tarts. We also like the hazelnut cake—it’s a crowd favorite!

Do note that some items may be smaller than you expect. But if you’re up for tasting (or mixing and matching) desserts, we bet this is a delightful place to start.

For the kiddos:

Chocolate Molecule is very kid-friendly! If you ask nicely, your kid might just have a special kitchen tour from the owner and chef.

Mirzam Chocolate Makers

Pricing: AED 50 – 100 per person

Mirzam Chocolate Makers is a local chocolate factory that offers a unique hot cocoa experience using freshly made chocolate. For one, their choco indulgence is crafted from single-origin cocoa beans, giving off a rich and authentic flavor.

Other than the hot beverage, we also adore its choco nachos—you can dip them in a nice swirl of chocolate or vanilla soft serve!

Insider scoop:

  • Keep an eye out for Mirzam Chocolate Makers’ special hot chocolate promos! This place usually has one per season, festival, or other important events.

For example, during winter, you can enjoy a free second drinking chocolate or an extra topping—like rose mallow or vanilla Chantilly (whipped) cream—on weekdays from 3 to 6 pm.

  • You may also join special workshops here now and then! During Valentine’s week, you can participate in rolling, coating, drizzling, and decorating a set of delicious truffles. We say bring a date too!

Läderach

  • Monday to Thursday – 10 AM to 11 PM
  • Friday to Sunday – 10 AM to 12 AM

Pricing: AED 100 – 150 per person
Facebook

Famous for its Swiss chocolates, Läderach is a fancy Dubai shop providing a delightful hot chocolate that we bet is smooth and indulgent enough for true chocolate fans.

We also think the FrischSchoggi (fresh chocolate) is the star of the show! Its thick, rich slabs seem packed with flavor and texture.

It’s also handy for us that there are plenty of flavors. You can select from classic milk chocolate with nuts to dark chocolate with berries or indulgent white chocolate with pistachios—whatever floats your boat.

For the food conscious:

Try Läderach’s vegan options too! Besides FrischSchoggi, there are tablet creamy cashews and snacking choco flakes which we believe are fun and tasty options for plant-based eaters.

The Choco Monarch

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday – 10 AM to 10 PM
  • Friday to Sunday – 10 AM to 12 AM

Pricing: AED 1 – 50 per person
Facebook

The Choco Monarch is a Dubai concept cafe offering delights, including French crêpes, waffles, pancakes, freshly baked cakes, and many beverages like cold and hot chocolate.

But above all, we believe you should get your hands on the Waffle Monarch or Crêpe Fettuccini. Another interesting thing for us is this shop loves drizzling chocolate over its desserts, so we say don’t expect anything dry here.

And if you’re bringing the little ones, we suggest letting them try the banana smoothie. In our opinion, this can work for most picky eaters—unless they hate bananas, of course.

Savvy suggestion:

Kream by Makaw

Operating Hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 10 PM
  • Saturday to Sunday – 9 AM to 10 PM

Pricing: AED 50 – 100 per person
Facebook

Kream by Makaw is the place for rich and silky hot chocolate drinks in Dubai. For us, this is where true cocoa lovers can enjoy artisanal treats.

One of our favorites is the date cakes. Not too big or small—we think it’s perfect for a not-so-overwhelming dessert. But if you want something lighter, we reckon the banana bread isn’t too bad either. This one is subtly sweet and topped with a bit of crunch.

We appreciate that there are savory items for brunch lovers as well. Other than that, we say give the three-cheese omelet a whirl to kickstart your day with something filling.

Smart pointer:

Need to park near Kream by Makaw? You can either use Gate Avenue Mall’s indoor or street parking for your convenience.

Co Chocolat

Website: https://cochocolat.com/
Address: Warsan 3
Contact Details: +971 4 388 6697, [email protected]
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 9 PM
Pricing: Around AED 100 – 200 per person
Facebook

Co Chocolat is well-loved for its cocoa, whether hot (you can go 65% dark!) or cold! It’s also known for its full cacao tablets instead of powder, which we bet is handy for those on the go. Plus, we like that it offers healthier chocolates for the fitness buffs.

But while the hot chocolate here is a well-loved classic, we reckon you should think twice before getting the one with chili—some say it’s got a tad too much heat!

Must-know move:

Love chocolate beyond the drinks? We suggest booking a Seedlings Chocolate Tour at Co Chocolat!

You would experience pouring, decorating, and wrapping the chocolate bars. You might even get a 10% discount before you leave! Just be sure to ask the staff beforehand.

L’ETO

  • Sunday to Thursday – 9 AM to 12 AM
  • Friday to Saturday – 9 AM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 50 – 150 per person
Facebook

Want to sip hot chocolate under the crisp morning air? L’ETO is an Instagram-worthy cafe with plenty of outside seating. It also has a nice selection of small, colorful desserts on clear display, making it convenient for diners to choose.

You can start with savory breakfast or brunch options like the omelet, pistachio and pear French toast, and truffle fries, but we say don’t miss out on the super light honey cake too.

On top of that, we suggest going for the shop’s trending milk cake. In our opinion, its light and airy texture makes it worth the hype.

Sour idea:

Fan of sour snacks? If you can handle it, we recommend trying L’ETO’s Mango Napoleon cake—but beware, this might not be for everyone!

TEN 11

Address: Level 2 Fashion Avenue The Dubai Mall
Contact Details: +971 600 533339

  • Monday to Thursday – 8:30 AM to 12 AM
  • Friday to Sunday – 8:30 AM to 1 AM

Pricing: AED 50 – 100 per person
Facebook

TEN 11 is among the most affordable coffee shops on our list for a nice hot chocolate experience. It’s known for its Hot Cocoa Blast, a thick and creamy winter drink with shaved choco, marshmallow, and chocolate stick for true sweets enthusiasts.

In our opinion, those with a big appetite should go with truffle scrambled eggs or burgers for breakfast. Other great picks for us are the signature crêpe and the San Sebastian cheesecake.

Breakfast scoop:

If you’re ordering shakshouka (a traditional Tunisian dish featuring poached eggs) at TEN 11, we recommend getting it in “medium runny” for the most delectable experience!
